1 UPPER HOUSING
The upper Housing is a CAD high precision component made of plastic polymer. With a tolerance of less than 0.01 mm, the component guides the switching slide precisely, forming the CHERRY MX switching mechanism housing.CHERRY Refract technology is integrated into the component: A computer-calculated lens set that uses active light refraction to direct the illumination from the SMD LED on the circuit board into the keycap without loss.
2 SWITCHING SLIDE / STEM
A CAD high-precision component made of plastic polymer specifically for the CHERRY MX creates the pre travel and the keystroke feel between the upper housing and coil spring. The key cap is attached on the upper part of the cyan stem.3 ACTUATOR
The metal actuator element is what makes the MX MULTIPOINT analog: it disturbes the electro-magnetic field created by the coil on the PCB and it's this disturbance which then gets precisely measured to read out how far the switch has been pressed.4 PRECISION COIL SPRING
The MX MULTIPOINT CYAN’s spring features a new progressive resistance with increasing resistance during the way of travel. This provides an optimal control and haptic on every point of the stem’s travel. The high-density molecular structure of the spring’s metal alloy is calculated individually on the keyswitch and consistently optimized for the keyswitch’s specific pressure force.5 HOUSING BASE
Dual-functional, the housing base component is made of a POM derivate, ensuring an ultra-smooth switch feeling. The inner part forms the mounting for the CHERRY MX switching mechanism. The outer part is both the base and mounting surface for mechanical keyboards.The bottom housing is translucent and has a recess for the SMD LED on the circuit board.
6 LUBRICATION
The MX MULTIPOINT CYAN is factory lubricated in a special process, making sure only the required parts receive the grease without drowning the switch in it.More about the original
