CHERRY Embedded Solutions presents the compact System-on-Module RINGNECK SOM-PX30-”Q7 for HMI applications (Human-Machine Interface).

Vienna, June 12 2024 – CHERRY Embedded Solutions presents the compact System-on-Module RINGNECK SOM-PX30-”Q7 for HMI applications (Human-Machine Interface). RINGNECK has been specially developed for mobile devices that need to focus on energy efficiency and space requirements. The SoM features the most common interfaces (WiFi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, CAN bus, USB, MIPI-CSI, MIPI-DSI, LVDS) and offers a cost-effective platform for a wide range of professional applications. 

The most important features at a glance:

  • RINGNECK SOM-PX30-”Q7 is based on Rockchip’s low-power SoC PX30 with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A35 CPU.
  • The integrated multimedia processor offers multi-format video decoding and video encoding (H.264, H.265). The ARM Mali GPU supports OpenGL and OpenCL 2.0 Full Profile. A dedicated 2D hardware engine enables image scaling, rotation and window composition to be outsourced and ensures smooth image output.
  • A MIPI-CSI interface provides native support for high-resolution cameras.
  • The CPU has ARM cryptography extensions and enables vector processing using Advanced SIMD.
  • The secure boot mechanism guarantees that only signed images can be executed on the device. Together with the optional EAL6+-certified secure element, they ensure cryptographic identification and the secure storage of digital keys.
