CHERRY SmartLink receives product approval from gematik

CHERRY Digital Health has reached a significant milestone as the company receives an official product approval from gematik for the eHealth CardLink process, which is integrated into the CHERRY SmartLink solution.

Munich, Germany 21st October 2024 – CHERRY Digital Health has reached a significant milestone as the company receives an official product approval from gematik for the eHealth CardLink process, which is integrated into the CHERRY SmartLink solution. 

CHERRY SmartLink enables e-prescriptions to be redeemed securely via NFC-enabled smartphones which sees users hold their electronic health card (eGK) to their NFC-enabled smartphone to order the prescription medication online or reserve it at a pharmacy. This innovation promises to significantly simplify the handling of e-prescriptions for patients and pharmacies. 

This approval marks a decisive step in Cherry's efforts to offer innovative solutions for the digitalization of the healthcare system. Gerrit Schick, Managing Director of Cherry Digital Health, comments: "The product approval by gematik confirms the quality and safety of our CHERRY SmartLink solution. Alongside our partners we are on track to enable market entry to make a significant contribution to the digitalization of healthcare." 

The company is now in the process of obtaining vendor approval, another important step toward market launch. This makes CHERRY a strong partner for new services for the telematics infrastructure. CHERRY is already cooperating with Awesome Technologies to bring their innovative TI Messenger to the German market. 

In conjunction with this TI messenger, CHERRY will enable all healthcare professionals across Germany to communicate with each other in real time. For example, questions about prescribed medication, information about existing laboratory results or callback requests can be exchanged. More of these new digital solutions are already in development at CHERRY.
